Pakistan Idol or its literal meaning Pakistan "God"

Pakistan Idol is a popular TV program which will be eventually starting in a private Pakistani Channel after the auditions have been finished. It has been a successor of the American Idol and the Indian Idol which are both singing competitions and the winner will be called a star of their country or more precisely, "Idol". He will receive an extraordinary brilliant car from the program and huge amount of of reputation. When considering the word "Idol" in this program, a person's mind links it with the word ideal, considering this whole name as "Pakistan Ideal". Some of the people do not know the meaning of the word Idol and they think it as a famous personality. If we look with great attention to this word, it has a disastrous meaning for Muslims. The word "Idol" is a synonym of "God" which means: 'an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship' as searched in Google. Before the advent of Islam, the Kafirs used to carve idols out of stone and worship them. This is the modern form of Idol worship in which a person (a great singer) is being made an idol and giving him as much fame as he has created all his qualities himself. This is not right By reading the post above, I believe Pakistan Idol's literal meaning is not in the favour of Islam and calling someone as idol is I believe turning away from Islam towards polytheism.
