Recent surveys have been highlighting the fact that Android
Phone numbers are surging in major markets, especially in the emerging markets like Pakistan,China, India and Brazil. The iPhone
has been lagging far behind. However Apple
has in its kitty a huge number of iPhone owners who are more inclined to consume a higher volume content in comparison to Android phone users. So it is immaterial that Apple iPhone constitute hardly 5% of the total smartphone market as compared to 40% Android phones
. Apple still dominates by volume of app income generation and browsing volume.
In the coming times more and more users and consumers will be shifting their preferences to Smartphones from Television, video games
and print media. The market of mobile browsing and the mobile application market will steadily increase in the coming times. Therefore it is not clear whether selling high end smartphones with large profit margins will be more profitable or selling mobile contents. Samsung
is flooding the market with Android smartphones of every denomination and price tags. The devices include devices with a very affordable price to very expensive devices. The aim of Samsung is to saturate the smartphone segment with Android devices and overtake the Apple iOS devices.
The results have become increasingly evident. Different surveys have been detecting vital signs of a surging population of Android Devices. A recent survey has revealed that Google
Play saw a surge of 48% in download volume while the iOS show a miniscule 3% growth.
The most affected in this huge surge in Android phones and an increase in browsing will be Apple. It will be interesting to note the figures in 2013 when both Apple iOS supported devices and Android OS supported devices will explode.
